8D Shanghai/Hangzhou/Suzhou/Wuxi/Nanjing
DAY 01: SINGAPORE/SHANGHAI/HANGZHOU
(MOB/L/D)
Assemble at Singapore Changi International airport for your
flight to Shanghai. With
its exquisite Roman Architecture, Victorian Heritage and the Frenchtown,
Shanghai is known as “Paris of the East”. Upon arrival take coach to Hangzhou, the beautiful capital city of the Zhejiang
province. Then
we will cruise the West
Lake – the dream of every poet. Enclosed within hills, West Lake
mirrors the surrounding landscape to form panoramic and great beauty.
It is the
symbol of Hangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful sights in China,
which in the legend was originally a jewel fallen from heaven. Also, visit Huagang
Guan Yu (Viewing Fish
in the Flowery Harbour) where special
pavilion was built during the Qing Dynasty for people to view and admire
the different kinds of rare fishes. Next visit Changqiao
Park.
DAY 02: HANGZHOU (B/L/D)
The highlight of today’s tour is to visit
Solitary
Island
(Gu Shan).
Its sits in
the northwest corner of the
West Lake, a natural island, about 900m from the bank and
surrounded by water and is a good place to appreciate West Lake.
Although the Hill is the lowest among all the hills in the West Lake, it
is the biggest island in the West Lake. Actually a
38-metre-high island between the Inner and Outer West Lake, this hill
connects Baidi Causeway in the east to Xiling Bridge in the west. It is
3.3 kilometres from Hangzhou proper and is called Solitary because it
stands
alone in the
lake, surrounded as it is by water on all sides. Next to Zhejiang
Provincial Museum. It houses
exhibits illustrating the history of Hangzhou as well as other parts of
Zhejiang Province. Next, visit a
tea plantation growing the famous
Longjing green tea, or dragon Well, Hangzhou's
most famous tea. The
scenery along the way is beautiful and the air is fresh. Enjoy Chinese
tea culture
by tasting
tea make
of the
Dragon Well
tea. After the tea tasting, proceed to Xi Hu Xin
Tian Di.
DAY 03: HANGZHOU/WUZHEN/SUZHOU (B/L/D)
After
breakfast, drive to the famous water town,
Wuzhen which has a history of
around 1200years. After which continue
journey to Suzhou, a
paradise on Earth – also known as “Oriental Venice” because of its
extensive network of canals. We
will visit one
of the famous gardens – Ou
Yuan
(Lotus
Garden). There
are two separate gardens located inside which one couple lived here
before. Ou in Chinese means lotus root and a couple can be also called
in this way. Lotus roots is also a plant which can be hardly aparted
with its threads connected, representing the love and emotion inseperable between couples.
Next visit the
Silk Factory, do not miss the opportunity to grab some of the local
souvenirs like the popular Suzhou silk, double-faced silk embroidery
etc. and to
see the spinning, weaving and embroidering of Hangzhou's luminous silk. After that you will enjoy the silk cloth fashion show.
DAY 04: SUZHOU/WUXI (B/L/D)
After
breakfast proceed to Hanshan Temple (Cold
Mountain Temple), it was built 700 years ago. It was restored during the Qing Dynasty
after a fire. To
view paintings, inscriptions and other precious artifacts.
Then
proceed to Wuxi - one
of the oldest cities in China dating back over 3000 years, situated at
the south of Jiangsu Province.
It’s also known
as the "Land
of Rice and Fish". On arrival, take a cruise on the
picturesque Taihu
(Lake
Tai), one of the five largest lakes in china. Visit
Taihu
Pearl Culture Farm.
Next to
the
Three
Kingdoms Park,
the filming site of the TV drama 'The Romance Three Kingdoms'.
DAY 05: WUXI/NANJING
(B/L/D)
After
breakfast, visit
zisha teapot factory. Then proceed
to Nanjing –
capital of Jiangsu Province a well-known ancient capital of China for
six different dynasties.
Upon arrival, enjoy a tour to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen
Mausoleum.
Sun Yat Sen (1866-1925) has been respected as Father of Modern China
since he fought unyieldingly against the corrupt Qing government and led
the 1911 revolution to end feudal system and found Republic of China,
leading Chinese people into a new era. It was built in 1926-1929 on the southern slopes of
Zhongshan Hill, towering 73 meters at an altitude of 158 meters above
sea level. 392 granite steps lead to the memorial hall and a vault where
the remains of Sun Yat Sen are buried under a marble statue of him in a
reclining posture.
Proceed to the Nanjing old city wall. Next visit famous
Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge,
the
first double deck and double track highway and railway bridge designed
and constructed by Chinese themselves
between
1960-1968.
Then to Jade
Museum
DAY 06: NANJING/SHANGHAI (B/L/D)
After breakfast take coach back to Shanghai,
the largest city in China.
Upon arrival, proceed to visit the former Residence of Mdm Song Qing Ling. It was the home and working place of Mdm
Song Qing Ling while she lived in Shanghai. Next visit the Shanghai
Bund, where you
will discover the charms of this vibrant city
and head to
Nanjing
Road for
fantastic shopping.
DAY 07: SHANGHAI (B)
After
breakfast, free in own leisure. You may want to visit the Huanhai
shopping area or Branded Market Xiangyang Road.
DAY 08: SHANGHAI/SINGAPORE (B/L)
The time
is free at leisure till the time for transfer to
the airport and bid farewell to China to board a flight back to
Singapore. Arrive home with fond memories and a wonderful experience of
